Vintage Postcard Spinner - La Fileuse

vintage postcards

What would this vintage postcard spinner be doing in the 21st century? She'd be working on this crochet coral reef! I'm sure that she'd be creating oodles of wooly kitchy fun:)

I have 68 variuos 'spinner' cards in my CPAPHIL.com shop. Come browse through history!

I just found your blog through "A duck in her pond", who I met through "the Muse". Love your cards. I am having trouble with the following people on my blog but have you bookmarked. My blog is getting revised this coming weekend and will certainly be following yours!

I used to go to this restaurant with my Dad that had tables made from old sewing machines. While you ate, you could tap your foot and watch the black iron wheels spin. That's what this postcard reminds me of.

I don't really follow people because it confuses me, but I'm adding you to my blogroll! :)

Maybe I should take up knitting and make myself a nice long scarf. Of course, it wouldn't get much use in South Florida.

I love the crochet coral reef! It reminds me of Dale Chihuly's glass work.
