Isle of Man Vintage Postcard - Ramsey Daily Photo Feature

Babooshka over at Ramsey Daily Photo blogs from the Isle of Man. This rocky and resplendent refuge is smack dab in the Irish sea in the center of the British Isles.

This flag, with a very interesting insignia, flutters there. The three armoured appendages are fused in a crotchety manner. I'm glad that I don't have three legs. I lose too many socks in the dryer as it is!

This type of symbol (three protrusions and threefold symmetry) is known as a triskelion. They are often thought to be solar symbols.

Be sure to check Babooska's daily photo. She puts history, satire, photos, and wit into a blender and hits puree! The result is very blogalicious:)

Delete this spammer! Somebody could click on him...

Anyway, I enjoyed your posting today, and laughed at the three-legged insignia. Did you intend a pun with CROTCH-ety? Ha, ha.

Is the an Isle of woman?(sorry, couldn't resist). I read that the head of state is Queen Elizabeth, who holds the title of Lord of Mann. Good for her.

I have a couple of postcards that might interest at the foot of my 'Sixty Years of Photographs'.

My latop has now lost internet connection so I've been waiting all day to see this. Just borrowed my partner's. Apparetnly G8 Cartoons for the BBC are more important than my blog. Tsk! This is a fab post. I am humbled and educated. This Babooshka woman sounds bonkers. Must be that third leg, living on a Island that believes in fairies and thinks it male. I will have to seek out some I.O.M vintage postcards now.
