Spaghetti Vintage Postcard

vintage postcards

This little cutie patootie is clutching a box of spaghetti! I have a huge pot of zippy sauce simmering on the stove right now! How do you cook you spaghetti?

I like to karate chop the pasta in half before putting it in the pot. I've been banned from that job in the kitchen. Francois the spaghetti snob likes to be able to twirl the whole noodle onto his fork. Ha!

My husband who is standing behind me says "she chops her spaghetti like I do". So you have a fan! lol
I like the whole spaghetti.
Thanks for dropping by.
reply to chores: I still have to ask 10 times, but at least I won't forget what chore I gave them. I just say go look on the chore board.
Have a great day!

I actually give mine the old chop-chop at least into 3 parts! I'm certainly no spaghetti snob. More of a "Red-neck"! I adore the little postcard photo.

Thanks for your comments on my blog, taking photos of jewellery is so much easier than art ;)

How perfectly wonderful! I love the movement in this postcard. Remember KungFu? It was a craze in the 1970's.

Lovely! I do so enjoy your postcards and blog.

Thank you for your comment on my blog. I love your blog, such fun and a feast for the eyes! I'm fairly new to blog world and I'm having a great time. My favorite thing is the connections I'm making all over the world...truly amazing!

My man is Italian...and I think he would have a heart attack if I chopped my spahetti...I guess he's a spahetti snob! lol

I hold a bunch of them and break them into halves. I eat my spaghetti with chopsticks!!!

How funny that they should pose that toddler on the chair with the spaghetti! I like to break it in half as well. If I don't I end up with spaghetti sauce all over my chin and little flecks on the front of my shirt. Sigh.

Starman said...

I, too, am guilty of breaking it in two, but I really prefer mezze penne.

That little cutie looks worried. I think she might prefer her spaghetti whole, like me!

I break up my spagetti and husband makes his whole. So, yeah, I've been banned from the kitchen too. But, I hate cooking anyway. Works out good. :o)

It's ALL about the twirling!

M.K. said...

I hate to use a knife when I eat spaghetti, so I twirl (but sometimes I chop too...)
I make a simmering pot of sauce from scratch, using my mom's recipe. My husband likes to make his pasta from scratch too, but he doesn't always get around to it.

Love your blog Marie! The little boy looks like he has a tight hold on his spaghetti. Kids love "pasgetti" as all my first graders called it! Happy Sunday, friend!
:) tina
p.s. I chop my spaghetti up,too--I am too much of neat freak to eat whole pieces.

Hello Marie, sorry I've been out of Postcard Fridays for a few weeks while catching up on other blog commitments + real life.
Sorry to have heard about your little boy being sick. There is nothing worse in the world, I know as I've been through some very serious issues in the past myself with my children.

I make crusty noodle spaghetti casserole. Ingredients, thin noodles (I like angel hair) You take a bottle of spaghetti sauce (Prego works) mix it with cooked ground beef, then layer, noodles, half of sauce, cheese...repeat. I love the postcard!

The ladies in my latest blog entry do not look like they want to cook spaghetti.

I also like to chop it two or three times before dropping in the boiling water.

I guess the real question is how do you tell it's done? Do you belong to the school of throw it against the wall and if it sticks it done, or do you just time it?

Never, never, cut the spaguetti. Sacrilege ! How do you want to tame them in your plate after that ?

Cute card, but then again I like all your cards.
To cook spaghetti, you stick one end of a handful in boiling water until it's soft, slowly roll it around the edge of the pan so it cooks in long pieces, then find the ointment to rub all over your blistered fingers.

Alas and hélas, I cook spaghetti whole, and twirl it around my fork.

But I do love your vintage postcards. I use them in my artwork!
